Deadly riots broke out in Nigeria. Men armed with machetes slaughtered more than 200 people in the city of Jos-- including a four-day-old baby. One survivor says he woke up in a hospital.
The killings came less than two months after sectarian violence in the state left more than 300 people dead.
The riots appeared to be revenge attacks following unrest in January.
Acting Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan says security agencies would be stationed along the state's borders-- to keep outsiders from coming in with more weapons.
The area has been under a dusk-til-dawn curfew enforced by the military since January's violence.
It was not clear how the attackers managed to get around the curfew.
Meantime a mass burial is being planned for the victims.
