(Ebru News/Agency) A Canadian woman who went missing last week in a blizzard was found alive, buried in 23 inches of snow. Rescuers were stunned to find the woman, Donna Molnar of Ancaster, Ontario, alive after she spent four days outside in freezing temperatures.
A police search dog, named Ace, and his handler, were trudging through almost knee-high snow when the dog took off across a field, signaling he had found Molnar.
Sergeant Mark Cox, Hamilton Police said:
"I can honestly say that I didn't expect to find her alive. But the hope was there, and that's why we keep going."
David Molnar, husband of rescued woman said:
"I think that God literally reached down and cradled her until we could find her. Because that's, in my opinion, not something the average human being could probably do on their own."
The 55-year-old woman's SUV became lodged in the snow in a wind-swept farm field on Friday.
David Molnar, husband of rescued woman said:
"It's a good Christmas for us. It's the best Christmas gift ever. It certainly could have been a lot worse."
Donna Molnar was taken to a hospital in nearby Hamilton. She is being treated for hypothermia.
