Ebru News(AP) According to  Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov; the forthcoming Russia-US talks will focus mainly on US plans to deploy its missile shield in Europe. The talks will take place in Moscow this Friday.

The two countries' foreign policy and defense chiefs will take part in the consultations.

Lavrov said the talks wouldn't only focus on the antiballistic missile, but also on the Treaty on Conventional Forces in Europe, as well as the reduction of strategic offensive weapons after the START-1 Treaty expires.

He also said Moscow hopes that Washington's answer to the Russian president's proposal on missile defence issues will strengthen strategic stability and not create new risks.

Lavrov was speaking at the end of a meeting with Madagascar Foreign Minister Marcel Ranjeva.
