The Editor-in-chief of the daily Al Ahram in Egypt, Abdul Bari Atwan in an article wrote that some of the Hamas leaders in Gaza remained silent while other Palestinian elements with their irresponsible attitudes fomented the Israeli massacre to some extent.
Atwan emphasized in his column that the Egyptian government used all of it's past experience in mid east affairs to renew the term of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
Egypt also warned Israel not to attack Gaza many times.
Certain Palestinian elements did not heed Egypt's warnings and sent 60 rockets to Israel before the visit of the Israeli Foreign Minister to Egypt and tried to make Egyptian peace initiatives unsuccessful.
Abdulbari Atwan wrote:
Some of the Hamas leaders in Gaza remained silent while other Palestinian elements with their irresponsible attitudes gave way to the Israeli massacre to some extent. There is a saying "if you cannot kill a wolf, don't attempt to pull its tail as well."
The leaders of Hamas and the Palestinian resistance are not the only ones to be blamed. What caused these desperate people to send rockets to Israel, may have been their desperation for food, medicine, fuel and electricity.
To find a way out of this vicious cycle and to stop Israeli assaults and begin new debates, it requires a quick international action.
