Investigation Continues Into Crash
The investigation continues into the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of six people, including the leader of the Grand Unity Party, Muhsin Yazicioglu.
Officials of the helicopter service company Med Air, still remain silent after a claim was released that the pilot of the helicopter who also died in the accident had informed the company about a malfunction of the emergency locater transmitter two days before the accident.
The claim says that the ELT had not been on board but following the tragic crash, officials defended that the ELT device did not start since there was no smashing crash.
Aviation experts agree that flying the chopper without the ELT is a very big risk. Right now, investigators are weighing in all possibilities in the crash. The pilot might have not started the ELT since he may have thought of saving the battery of the device or the pilot could have not started the device since he was killed, instantly.
The civil aviation authority is expected to audit the company which has many other shortcomings beside the broken ELT.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to look into the voice recordings and photographs at the moment of the accident. A photojournalist from IHA agency was on-board and he is believed to have taken pictures and recorded the interview with the former Grand Unity Party leader.
