( Ebru News) A Turkish aid organization is receiving an award from thousands of miles away. Is Anybody There which was earlier recognized by the Turkish Parliament has now been honered for it's international aid activities by the Peruvian Parliament.
The aid organization, Is Anybody There, is being praised by authorities from around the world. The Turkish Parliament gave a meritorious service medal to the organization for its activities throughout the world.
The organization received its second award form the other end of the world: Peru
Is Anybody There came to the aid of Peru with prefabricated homes following the 7.9 magnitude quake on August 15 2007.
The Peruvian government said "Is Anybody There" was the only international aid organization which helped it's people during the earthquake.
The speaker of the Peruvian Parliament, Luis Gonzales Posada, presented the award to the chairman of Is Anybody There Ferruh Yucel. The ceremony was broadcast live on Peruvian TV. Posada said the aid activities brought the two nations together.
Luis Gonzales Posada, The speaker of the Peruvian Parliament said:
"I'm happy with the activities of Is Anybody There following the earthquake. Thanks to the aid organization now we the Peruvians and Turks have a strong tie of brotherhood. The aid has soothed our wounds. I give my best regards and love to the Turkish nation."
Yucel, who gave s speech at the ceremony said the organization struggles to help people in need in the world regardless of their religion, race or language.
