 Everything starts the night before the Hayir festival. The men from Asagi Sevik and nearby villages cut rib cages and legs of beef and mutton. Then all night long the men boil the meat in large caldrons over a long fire.  Near the tiny village of Asagi Sevik in the pristine and untouched Kaz Mountains of Western Turkey a group of visiting Americans attend a traditional village meeting called a “Hayir” or goodness Festival. |
