Ebru Program Wins NAMIC Award
The Guyanese-Americans episode of EbruTV's popular show "World in America" won the NAMIC Vision award in the Lifestyle category.

The Guyanese-Americans episode of EbruTV's popular show "World in America" won
the NAMIC Vision award in the Lifestyle category.

"World in America"  focuses on the lifestyles, culture and cuisines of various ethnic groups living in the U.S. It is produced by Nasuhi Yurt and Usame Tunagur.

Tunagur accepted the award at the ceremony in Beverly Hills.

He said it was a "bittersweet" occasion because he beat out his wife, Archana Mahalingam who was also nominated for best lifestyle  for her show, "Blank Canvas"

The awards ceremony was attended by several major networks.  HBO won four awards and its series" The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," won best drama and best performance.   NBC won for best drama for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Tunagur said he was thankful to Ebru for the opportunity to produce this multicultural show.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday at the Beverly Hilton.
